TEACHING Experience

A Professor in Law and a former LLB Module Leader that taught eight subjects at three different London Universities. During my time as a law lecturer at Westminster University, I have taught five subjects in law and I was head of the Tax Law department. I am academically qualified in all areas of law and has worked in many solicitors’ firms. My success as a law tutor is founded on my own interest and thoroughness in the subjects I teach.

Furthermore, I can be a valuable asset to you because I have first-hand experience on setting questions for examinations and publishing guidance on marking exam papers. At times of the year, I am a sought after law tutor, firstly because I teach so many subjects and secondly, because I have a proven ability to increase a student’s confidence and motivation. By helping the student to enjoy their subject I focus on developing a student’s law study skills and discipline so that they can independently apply this to each subject within the study of law.

publications

Why are these my publications considered to be so unique? Simply said, they were written in such a manner with the student in mind from the beginning. The goal of my law notes and law textbooks is to alter the narrative by providing students with access to high standard of material that help students with writing their essays and completing their assignment or preparing for exams.

Practice Areas

I was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2007. I chose not to practice law as a barrister. Rather, I began working for local law clinics and advice centres, including The Free Representation Unit. After that, I worked in London for many Solicitors. I was involved in the case of R v Secretary of State for the Home Department ex p Javed [2001] EWCA 789, where the Court of Appeal held that the Minister had acted irrationally when he made a Statutory Instrument, which designated Pakistan as a country in which ‘in general there is no risk of persecution’, adding it to a so-called ‘white list’. I have now honed my professional skills since 2012, defending claimants in Employment Tribunals throughout the United Kingdom and provide free advice.
