Statutory Illegality Dismissal

It is rare for an employer to rely on this reason to dismiss an employee.  However, examples include where a bus driver has lost his/her driving licence, or where the employee has lost his/her right to work legally in the UK due to a visa expiry. Where possible, the employer should try to find alternative employment for the employee.  If that is not possible, very little procedure is required to dismiss such an employee.
