Plaintiff
Plaintiff meaning
The party who first files a legal complaint or claim in a civil proceeding. Nonetheless, the term "plaintiff" is still commonly used in Ireland, Northern Ireland, and the majority of other common law countries. In England and Wales, the term "claimant" has been used in lieu of "plaintiff" since 1998 and the introduction of the CPR. The term you are looking for is called a pursuer in Scotland.
