Mitigation
Mitigation MEANING
Mitigation means Reducing the likelihood of suffering a loss as a result of the occurrence of an unfavourable event is what we mean when we talk about mitigation. This is an essential component since it helps to prevent losses that are not really required or recovverable. In general, mitigation refers to reducing the severity of any loss or injury to the greatest extent possible.
Criminal Law
(i) Reasons for lessening a sentence which might be imposed in criminal matters.
Civil Law
(ii) In civil law it refers to limiting one’s losses after an act.
