Magic Circle law Firms
magic circle law firms meaning
The phrase "magic circle law firms" was first used by legal journalists in the late 1990s. For the last 15 years, it has been comprised of a separate group of five law firms, which are as follows:
Allen & Overy;
Clifford Chance;
Freshfields;
Linklaters; and
Slaughter and May.
These are the five companies with headquarters in the United Kingdom that are often regarded as being among the most prominent elsewhere in the world. Their customer base, the amount of money they make per lawyer, the amount of money they make per partner, and the total number of attorneys who work for them are all contributors to their firm's elite position in an industry that is notoriously cut-throat.
