The court has 37 judges as of 2 November 2022: 26 Lord Justices of Appeal and 11 Lady Justices of Appeal. All Court of Appeal judges are senior judges with extensive experience in the court system. The King appoints judges based on the advice of a selection panel constituted by the Judicial Appointments Commission. According to official UK Ministry of Justice (MoJ) papers for 2021 - 2022, judge salaries are categorised from 1 to 8 for 2021 – 2022. (1 being the highest salary group). Group 1 judges make £267,509 annually, and group 8 judges earn £91,217 annually.
