Family Division meaning

Family Division is a Division of the High Court which deals with family matters such as divorce or wardship. The High Court Family Division is responsible for hearing situations in which a child who is the focus of legal proceedings must be safeguarded, but the Children Act of 1989 does not allow for this protection to be granted. An estrangement in the family is a separation that occurs inside the family unit, and it often occurs when one or more members of the family decide to separate from one another. While it occurs most often between grown children and their parents, alienation may also occur between parents and one another. Sir Andrew McFarlane serves as both the President of the Family Division and the Chief of Family Justice at the present time. In addition to the President, who sits on the Court of Appeal, the Family Division is made up of 19 High Court Judges. The President sits on the Court of Appeal.
