Debtor

Debtor meaning

A judgement debt is owed by an individual called a debtor when a monetary judgement has been rendered against that person and the judgement has been entered. This person will be obligated to pay the judgement. The judgement creditor is the person to whom the judgement debtor owes money at the end of the case.

It is up to the claimant to petition the court to take additional action, which is referred to as "enforcing the decision," in the event that the defendant does not pay. Unless a claimant specifically ask the court to do anything, it will do nothing.
