Notary Public

Notary Public MEANING

Notaries are specialised lawyers. Notaries are appointed and controlled in England and Wales by the Faculty Office of the Archbishop of Canterbury. The majority of notaries are also attorneys, however this is not required. Being a notary is a distinct occupation. You must submit a formal application together with a Certificate of Fitness and a Certificate of Good Conduct in order to be considered for admission. All newly appointed notaries will be required to be overseen by another notary for the first two years of their careers. Whereas a solicitor's first obligation is to operate in the client's best interests, a notary's primary obligation is to guarantee that all papers are legally legitimate. This is a globally recognised profession, and as such, they must adhere to the current global standards.
