Long Vacation meaning

Long Vacation is the period between 1st August and 1st October when the High Court only hears urgent matters. Only sittings in the High Court and the Court of Appeal are taken into consideration for determining the term dates for the legal year. These dates are determined in line with the Practice Direction, which complements Part 39 of the Civil Procedure Rules.
