Per curiam

Per curiam MEANING

The Latin phrase for "by the court." A court of appeals decision that does not name the judge who may have authored it. The Court may also decide matters in per curiam opinions, in which the author is not identified. Often, these matters are resolved hastily, usually without oral debate. Nonetheless, per curiam opinions have sometimes been given in contested situations.
